Case Study - Department for International Development

Desbrow Thompson Chaffe created the 'InfoZone' at the Department for International Development's new London headquarter's - this permanent installation includes an exhibition and displays with work and meeting areas giving access to the internet, e:mail, a library of relevant material and 24 hour news for local and international visitors and dignitaries.

The area has been a resounding success and is seen by many as a very positive asset, allowing busy visitors to catch up on correspondence, research and to ‘chill’ between meetings. Since producing this project we have been asked by many other organisations to look at similar ‘hot-desking’ or ‘hotelling’ requirements.

Such was the importance of the ‘InfoZone’ that it was formally opened by Kofi Anan (Secretary General of the United Nations).
